The EU Office (EUO) of Amnesty International (AI) is looking for an Executive Officer to lead on the relationship between AI and the Council of Europe (CoE); the full-time permanent post is to join our team in June 2010. The post holder will work with AI’s International Secretariat (IS) in London, national sections, and within the EU Office team to draw together and coordinate the implementation of AI’s strategy on the CoE in line with the movement’s priorities.  The post holder will lead on the political advocacy response, monitor relevant bodies and developments, and integrate other appropriate strands of work led by others into a comprehensive strategy.  We are looking for a specialist in CoE affairs, who enjoys translating CoE contexts into advocacy action for the AI movement and is able to interact with key decision-makers on behalf of AI and with AI staff. It is important that the post holder is a strong analytical and strategic thinker with political savvy, an independent and organized worker, and has the ability to bring people within a global organization together for joint work.

Communications Officer - Toy Industries of Europe (TIE) - Brussels

Location Brussels Toy Industries of Europe (TIE) is looking to fill the full-time post of Communications Officer who will work closely with the Director General and the Chair of the Membership Committee to provide cross-functional communications support to the Group. Policy Officer - Toy Industries of Europe (TIE) - Brussels

The TIE Secretariat is based in Brussels and looking for a Policy Officer to join its team. He/she must be an ambitious, flexible and dynamic team player with an interest in acquiring an in-depth knowledge of the public policy issues that affect the toy industry such as product safety, innovation, packaging, waste, REACH, eco-design etc... Especially the area of toy safety will need considerable work and focus: the new Toy Safety Directive requires the development of harmonized technical standards and TIE needs to ensure that its members will be ready for its implementation by mid-2011 (general provisions) and mid-2013 (provisions on chemicals).
